Our rare, Uji Matcha is a Japanese green tea that starts with newly picked, shade-grown Gyokuro tea leaves. The leaves are then carefully dried and stone ground into a fine powder, which produces a distinctive and smooth finish. Traditionally used for Japanese tea ceremonies, you may also enjoy it as a latte, smoothie, or cold-brewed with water.
This ancient Matcha drink contains high concentrations of anti-oxidants and vitamins. Many find it to be calming and improves clarity of mind.

Using a bamboo whisk (Chasen), matcha bowl (Chawan), and hooked bamboo scoop (Chashauk):
With your chashauk, add 1-2 tsp matcha into a chawan. Add a teaspoon of ~180° water (before boiling) and whisk into a paste with a chasen. Add 2 fl oz (1/4 cup) of hot water or more depending on your preference and whisk vigorously in a zig zag motion until the tea is frothy. Enjoy your matcha tea straight from the chawan!
