The aroma, flavor, texture and taste of a tea depends largely on how it's infused. Just as there are vast differences in taste, the possibilities and variations in tea brewing are also limitless. Water and tea leaves can create a world of peace and calm in an instant, or revitalize you to be present in the moment.
The following blending instructions are the general guidelines we recommend for the majority of our teas. There are many teas with "sweet spot" times that we will gladly share with you when we send you your order. Tea is too inspiring not to be savored in your favorite way. Cheers!
Black tea: Boiling water (212°F), 1 tsp. per 8 oz. water, 3 to 4 min.
Pu-ehr tea: Boiling water (212°F), 1 tsp. per 8 oz. water, 3 to 5 min.
Green tea: Before water boils (180°F), 1 tsp. per 8 oz. water, 2 to 3 min.
White tea: Before water boils (180 °F), 2 tsp. per 8 oz. water, 3 to 5 min.
Oolong tea: Before water boils (185°F), 1 tsp. per 8 oz. water, 3 to 4 min.
Chai blend: 2 parts boiling water & 1 part heated milk, 2 loaded tsp. per 8 oz. of liquid, 6 – 10 min.
Herbal tea: Boiling water (212°F), 2 tsp. per 8 oz. water, 5 to 7 min.
Black tea has approx. 80-90 mgs of caffeine per cup, while green tea has 20 or more mgs. White tea has about 45-50 mgs. Conversely, coffee contains more than double the caffeine per cup with more than 180 mgs.
