Sometimes rules are meant to be broken.

Customarily, Kashmiri Chai - also called “Noon Chai” or “Pink Chai” - is made with a green tea base and is pink in color, however we crafted ours with a base of black Indian tea. Adding in cardamom, peppermint, nutmeg, and tellicherry pepper give this chai a bold, spicy flavor. A house favorite in our Portland tea shops. Caffeinated.

Our Organic Kashmiri Chai and Organic Masala Chai are our more popular traditional chai blends. While the difference is subtle, the Kashmiri Chai has a peppermint aroma and a bit more spice than the Masala.

How to Steep Kashmiri Chai Tea

  • 2 tsp Organic Kashmiri Chai
  • 8 oz* of water –or– 5 oz water and 3 oz steamed milk
  • 205-212°F - Near boiling to boiling
  • Steep for 6 minutes

*8 oz (one cup) of chai is never enough, so feel free to double or triple this recipe!!
